Steve Swords, CPA

Prior to founding SWM, Steve was active in a public accounting firms, most recently as a partner and officer with “Raymond E. Blevins CPA & Steve A. Swords, CPA, LLC” in Tyler, Texas. Prior to that he was with Arthur Young and Co. (one of the Big 8 firms at the time) in Dallas, Texas.

Over the years, Steve has developed skills in financial planning to include tax, estate and risk management as well as investment planning. He was involved in the development of personal financial planning training for CPAs through the Texas Society of CPAs back in the late 1980s before the discipline was well known.

Steve graduated from Austin College in 1976, with a Bachelor of Administration in general business. He also attended both the University of Texas in Austin (undergrad work) and in Arlington (post-graduate studies and teaching). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Steve is also an ordained minister and has served on the deacon boards or in the eldership of various charitable and non-profit organizations including the Fellowship of Prairie Creek, Community Christian Fellowship, and Trinity Fellowship, all of Lindale, Texas where he makes his home in the Hideaway Lake community with his wife of over 40 years, Vicki.

He serves as a minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through Rise Up Ministries, Inc., a non-profit organization formed to help people transform their walk with God and seek a Spiral Up life.

Steve and Vicki enjoy their grandchildren and being actively involved with both their son Jasien and his wife, Rebekah, and their daughter, Lindsay Swords Pellerzi and her husband, Marine Warrant Officer, Garrett Pellerzi.
